History and Experience
A dare from Pat’s father put him on the path to accounting. Pat’s father, a high school guidance counselor, challenged his then-aimless son to earn an accounting degree as a way to prove he could accomplish a goal. Pat accepted the challenge and earned a BBA from UNM. With that degree, he found his true calling as accountant and story teller.
Since 1985, Pat has worked in private industry and in public accounting firms in Albuquerque and Denver. Most recently, he spent two years as CFO at United Way of Central New Mexico.
Pat is the Partner in charge of the audit department. He draws on his broad range of experience to build a service-driven, client-focused, employee-friendly culture distinct from most accounting firms.
Pat applies his extensive experience with not-for-profit organizations to help passionate leaders of not-for-profits transition to long-term sustainable businesses. Pat enjoys working with family businesses to develop successful enterprises that endure across generations. He delights in explaining financial issues with metaphors and stories.
In 2013, Pat was awarded the Arthur Spiegel Lifetime Achievement Award for his volunteer work with United Way of Central New Mexico. The New Mexico Society of CPAs named him the 2014 Outstanding Member in Community Service.
Besides the awards, Pat is proud to have been a mentor to many controllers and financial professionals through the years.
Outside of accounting, his greatest pleasure is being a husband and a father to his two daughters.
