History and Experience

Being good in math started Michael down the path to becoming a CPA. When he started college, his adviser suggested he take and introductory accounting class because of his high scores in math. Mike liked that fact that numbers are consistent and that sometimes accounting is like putting a puzzle together to get the final product.

Since 1988 Mike has worked in private industry and in public accounting firms in the Albuquerque area. Most recently, he spent two years as CFO at Pecos Valley Medical Center.

After graduation with a BBA in accounting from ENMU, Mike was a commissioned officer in the the Army until honorably discharged in 1983.

Current Role

Mike is a manager in the audit department. He works on a full range of audits. He enjoys working with the clients during audits to help them understand the auditing process and to get better at their jobs to make future audits better and easier.

Proudest Accomplishment

Mike was proud to serve our country as an officer in the U. S. Army. Away from the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his fiancée, son, and granddaughter.

Outside Activities

Mike enjoys working out and building rustic furniture using only hand tools. He also spends time taking road trips around New Mexico with his fiancée.
